There is a wealth of evidence highlighting the importance of protein and good nutrition in over 50s.

As we age we actually need more protein to counter natural ageing and maintain and build muscle mass and bone density.

The longer we maintain our bone and muscle strength, the longer we can remain independent, work the jobs we love, do the hobbies we enjoy, look after our family, and live life to the fullest!

'Longevity' is more than just a word.

To us, it is the ability to remain physically and cognitively functional and keep doing the things we love as we age. To make more memories, to spend more time with our loved ones, take the opportunities we thought might have passed.

We don't believe in growing old gracefully, we believe in making small changes to your lifestyle that allow you to maximise and embrace the entirety of the one life we get!

Progevity has been formulated by Dr Alex Denning, an orthopaedic surgeon with 10 years of healthcare experience.

Having witnessed many people over 50 not achieving sufficient protein and vitamin intake we felt we needed to provide a solution to this problem.

Lifecycle of longevity

  • Early years

In our earlier years we reach our peak bone and muscle strength. This reduces each decade after our 30s. Good nutrition and protein intake, alongside physical activity, increases the peak strength of bone and muscle.

  • Mid-life

Continuing these habits when over 50 not only reduces the decline in muscle and bone health, but can increase them! It is never too late to start. Beginning to increase protein and vitamin intake, and remaining active, are the keys to longevity.

  • Later years

Maintaining muscle mass and bone health in mid-life can prevent falls and fractures in later life. Starting good habits, including exercise and good nutrition in mid-life is the best way to prevent these issues later in life
